ある日曜日、自宅をでて左に曲がると 大きな桜 が姿を変えながら四季を伝えます。
そのうちにパンの香ばしさが伝わってきて、腹具合を感じてしまいます。
今日は 「買っていこうか？」
「もうすぐ昼、腹減ってきたし…」自然と感じとります。
五感は言葉より先に動きます。フフｯ
その先には 山登り のような勾配の坂道が続きます。
坂道を登りながら思い出す印象的な方がいます。
渡辺勝三郎さん、昨年、お亡くなりになられた本当に素敵な紳士。
出会ったのは10年以上前、まだお元気で週３日ほどお仕事をされてました。
気さくでありながら、凛として、素敵な紳士！
街で出会うと、「お～う 久しぶりね～」と気さくに声をかけてくださり、
「お久しぶりです。今日はどちらへ？」（私）
「友達と国立博物館に行ってきたんよ」（渡辺さん）
と、うれしそうに パンフレットを見せてくれます。
ジャケットに真っ赤なシャツが似合っていて、
一緒に歩くと
ほのかに漂うコロンのかおり
90歳を過ぎていると思えない、立ち姿。
素晴らしい！こうなりたい！こうありたい！
95歳で旅立ちされるまで好きな自宅で好きな絵を描き、身の回りの家事も頑張る、
あと４日で96歳を迎える 素敵な紳士 でした。
渡辺さんいわく、
「私を丈夫にしてくれたのはこの坂道やもんねぇ。」と笑いながらおっしゃっていた
姿を思い出します。
その渡辺さんの足腰を鍛えてくれたのは自宅の前の坂道。
何万回登ったかな？とおっしゃるそのまなざしは温かさが溢れてました。
いつも年賀状と暑中お見舞いは “粋な絵” とともにいただいておりました。
今年は届かないなぁ と思ってたら、長女の方から寒中見舞い。
渡辺さんがご自身を描かれた絵とともにお亡くなりになったことを知ったのでした。
その粋な絵はどこまでも渡辺さんらしく、 死を予感したご自身の姿 を
どこまでもユーモラスに 好きな絵を楽しんでいる
渡辺さんのお姿が浮かんでくる お葉書でした。
